The Friday Five: Resolutions

I don't recall ever making new year's resolutions before, but I feel like I've spent the last two years in a holding pattern, and so I've decided to will more discipline into my life. We'll see what good it does.

  1. Defend my dissertation -- If it doesn't happen in 2006, it won't happen ever.
  2. More time outside. Less time online -- I might put a timer beside the computer.
  3. Volunteer -- Maybe take on another ESL class. Maybe something completely different.
  4. Finish a book a week -- Should be pretty easy, assuming I stick to resolution number 2.
  5. Run a thousand miles -- I didn't keep track last year, but I was probably in the 700-800 mile range.
