- Facing South — The Institute for Southern Studies has launched a great new blog in order to " provide a space for Southerners and South-watchers to better understand the South, and kick-start the debate about prospects for progressive change in this fascinating region we call home." Soon to become a daily read, I'm sure. [via South Knox Bubba]
- New Wave Photos — Am I the last person to find this page? An amazing archive of photos from rock photographer Phillipe Carly. [via Wiley Wiggins]
- Tennessee Alumnus — If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times: My wife is cooler than your wife.
- The Wayward Cloud — Filmbrain, reporting from Berlin, has posted a provocative review of Tsai Ming-Liang's latest. The Wayward Cloud is apparently the film that Tsai spoke about a few years ago when he mentioned wanting to make a sequel to What Time Is It There? in which Hsiao-Kang becomes a porn actor. Sounds like American distribution will be tricky. My copy of the new Goodbye, Dragon Inn DVD arrived yesterday, and I'm thrilled to see that it also includes Tsai's short, The Sidewalk is Gone. After wanting to see these films for years now, I'm finally going to sit down with them tonight.
