The Guardian has a great piece this week on the current revival of Andrei Tarkovsky's Boris Godunov. An interesting side note: Irena Brown, who was Tarkovsky's assistant during the 1983 production, mentions that he was asked to make a film about Lenin, but the authorities "hated his script - not surprisingly."
