I started my new job today, which means that this morning was the first time in more than two years that I woke up and didn't know what I would be doing all day. I'm not sure how I feel about that. The good news is that I won't be spending eight hours a day holed up alone in an office, staring at a computer. I'm now part of a team or two, I have an officemate, and I'll likely move often from project to project. The bad news is that I won't be spending eight hours a day holed up alone in an office, staring at a computer. No more writing my dissertation on the clock, I guess.
As a going away gift, my co-workers gave me a $50 gift certificate from Best Buy — and just in time for one of BB's 10% off weekends. I picked up the Claude Chabrol Collection, which ended up costing me just over $20. Not bad for eight DVDs. Reviews of each DVD with large screen captures can be found at my friend Gary's site, DVDBeaver:
I haven't seen any of them yet, so it should be quite a treat.
