Linkage

Tuesday, December 03, 2002

How about some humor to spice up your day:

I also love Alexa Web Search. Type in the address of your favorite Web site and get all kinds of interesting information about it. Did you know, for instance, that Long Pauses ranks 3,733,791 among the world's most visited sites? Sweet. Not bad for a site without nudity. I've also used Alexa and Webstats to discover all sorts of interesting sites that have been kind enough to link to me.

  • Beyond — Okay, so I've known about this one for some time now. You should not only visit Karen's little home on the Web, but also pony up the $45 that would help her get Beyond back in print.
  • Concentrated Nonsense — Alexis Tioseco's blog is an entertaining mix of personal anecdotes and informed film discussion. Alexis also appears to be a staff writer for another interesting site, Indiefilipino.
  • When Canses Were Classeled — Yeah, I don't know what the title means either. (A play on "When Classes Were Cancelled"?) Sub-titled "The Internet Dwelling of Eric Hender-Fender-Bender," this site collects assorted film-related writings by Eric Paul Henderson. Two notes for Eric: I'll assume that the green text on an orange background is a joke (that's just wrong, man), and be sure to knock Tokyo Story off of your "to see" list as soon as possible. Great film.
  • Understanding Nothing — I can't seem to find out anything about the author of this site, Tony Bowden, but his blog focuses mostly on computing and programming. On May 17 he linked to my response to Annette Insdorf's Kieslowski book. Strange.
  • Cinema=Jean-Luc Godard=Cinema — A great bibliography of Internet writings on Godard, including my response to Breathless.
  • DVDBeaver — Buried somewhere deep in Gary Tooze's collection of film links, you'll find little ol' me. Gary and I have been corresponding electronically for years now, and I still don't know where the "beaver" came from.
